推薦信通常是在申請大學的時候，學校會要求學生要提交2~4封的推薦信。 之前分享過一篇有關寫推薦信一定要知道的內容及注意事項，這篇主要是針對申請大學的推薦信，但內容都是可以參考的，建議還沒有讀過這一篇的朋友，可以先讀一下喔。
由於最近向我們諮詢海外中學的家長開始變多了，所以我們想要在此分享一些有關申請海外中學的資訊。
加拿大的公立中學開放給國際學生的名額很有限，在申請的條件上學校除了會要求學生近兩到三年的學業成績之外，也會建議再附上推薦信、讀書計畫、作品集...等資料，讓學校能夠更了解學生，在眾多國際學生申請中增加入取機會。除了提供申請必要文件給學校外，建議文件可以斟酌準備。我們找了三個推薦信的範本(如下)提供給寫推薦信的推薦人參考。

 除了準備研究所申請面試問題的答案之外，記住這一個面試不只是學校在面試你，同時你也在面試學校，所以記得也要準備你要發問的問題喔。以下是一些適合可以在研究所申請面試中發問的問題，請參考。

1. 1. What characteristics are specific to this program and distinguish it from competitors? [show that you did your homework by referring to specific characteristics]

 

1. 2. Where are recent alumni employed? What do most students do after graduation?

 

1. 3. What types of financial aid are offered? What criteria are used for choosing recipients?

 

1. 4. Are there any scholarships or fellowships available? How do I apply?

 

1. 5. Are there teaching opportunities, such as teaching assistantships and adjunct positions?

 

1. 6. Do most students publish an article or present a paper before graduation?

 

1. 7. What applied experiences are included in the program (e.g., internships)? Ask for examples of internship placements.

 

1. 8. What is the relative importance of admissions test scores, undergraduate grades, recommendations, admissions essays, experience, and other requirements?

 


 

1. 9. Does the department prefer applicants immediately out of undergraduate programs or do they prefer applicants with work experience? If they prefer or require experience, what kind of experience are they looking for?

 

1. 10. How are mentoring and advising relationships established? Are advisors assigned?

 

1. 11. How long do most students take to graduate? How many years of course work? How long do most students take to complete their dissertations?

面試是申請研究所的條件之一，如何準備面試時會被問到的問題，可以參考以下整理的一些問題，先從這些問題開始準備答案。當然不是每一所學校都會要求學生面試，但如果你接到學校的面試通知，恭喜你喲~ 你的申請已被學校重視。



個人特質、特色相關問題：

申請海外大學時，讀書計劃通常為必備文件之一。讀書計劃在申請大學過程中扮演了相當重要的角色，因為一篇詞不達意、撰寫不佳的讀書計劃會讓審核資料的老師對你產生負面印象，就算其他部份的表現極為出色也會有所影響。注意: 市面上有很多網站及書籍提供讀書計劃範本給申請人作參考，以便增加其入學機會。但千萬不要把這些讀書計劃範本作為自己申請學校的讀書計劃範文，因為學校的審核老師每年閱讀過千份以上的讀書計劃，他們很容易分辨出申請人的讀書計劃是否為抄襲來的文章，如是的話，將對申請人產生非常負面的評價，所以撰寫屬於自己風格的讀書計劃非常重要，且能反應出申請人的觀點。
 
學校入學部門的審核重點 - 校入學審核老師在審查申請人的讀書計劃時，會從三方面著手：

在留學申請的過程中，學校通常會要求2~4封來自由申請者工作主管或教授的推薦信函，其目的在藉由申請人外的第三者，就申請人的特質、能力和態度做評估，以作為學校審核申請者的一種參考。
推薦信是留學申請過程中，最難由自己掌控的部份，也由於它是眾多審核資料中少數能從第三者的客觀角度評估申請者的文件，因此佔有重要的地位。我們可從三個方向著手：
1. 就學校方面： 首先，必須先了解申請科系的特質（推薦信內容可強調此點特質）；整理各校對推薦信內容的要求，即可得對於評估的基本要求（例如：學術研究潛力、創造力等），及特殊要求（例如：對研究領域的適應度等）。試想：你認為審核委員會希望由推薦信中，獲取那些關於你的資料。

讀書計畫不會寫, 沒有方向嗎?  
我會建議讀書計畫是自己先寫，然後再請專業的老師幫你看過再修改。我不鼓勵學生讀書計畫一開始就找別人幫你代寫,，學校不會因為你讀書計畫裡面的英文寫得很好而入取你。 讀書計畫的重點是內容充不充實, 還有表現出你個人的特色風格.
